My hands are all ripped up from tonight’s rehearsal and I’m pretty sure my shins are going to be bruised but it was all worth it because of how much fun it was. Playing the cutting surdo (a Brazilian bass drum basically) is very different from playing the caixa (a Brazilian snare drum) but I’m learning to enjoy it. I miss the caixa though, not going to lie but I’m equally happy to be learning a how to play a different drum. Fun times, anyway I’m probably going to collapse from exhaustion, doing the samba while playing the drums is a pretty amazing work out.
